The Convention

The Cascade Convention group was kicked off by a common desire amongst a few Sentinel fans to hold a convention.

And hold a convention we did.

On the weekend of 26-27 February we gathered. We listened to our guests, we asked questions. We feasted, we laughed, we shared fond memories. A good time was had by all.

The Guests

Richard Burgi

Who he? You're kidding, right? This was the man, The Sentinel, he of the many enhanced senses. With his trusty side-kick, shaman Guide, James Ellison protected the citizens of Vancouv... um, Cascade.

Garett Maggart

Who he? Oh, come on! According to the book by Burton (not the actor) every Sentinel needs his guide, and Garett was the man who played Guide to Burgi's Sentinel. Possessed of great intelligence, humor and no small amount of patience with the Sentinel's anal-retentive habits, Blair Sandburg is one of the most popular characters in fandom.

Bruce A Young

Captain Simon Banks - the man who made it possible for the Sentinel and Guide team to work their magic together. He served as their leader, their protector, and their friend.

Paul DeMeo

Paul, along with close friend Danny Bilson, formed Pet Fly Productions which created The Flash, Viper, and The Sentinel.  Paul’s talents were expressed through his writing of several episodes and his collaboration with other writers. His diligent oversight kept the storylines on track.

Danny Bilson

Danny, along with close friend Paul De Meo, formed Pet Fly Productions which created The Flash, Viper, and The Sentinel.  While guiding the development of The Sentinel, Danny also served as director and writer for several episodes, including the 'story arc' of "Switchman/Siege", "Flight", "Warriors", and "The Sentinel by Blair Sandburg".

Bruce Bilson

Bruce brought a huge wealth of experience as a director to The Sentinel. His list of projects includes Barney Miller, Bonanza, Dallas, Get Smart, Hawaii Five-O, Hogan's Heros, M*A*S*H, One West Waikiki, Spencer for Hire, The FallGuy, The Flash, and Viper. He contributed his talents to 11 episodes of The Sentinel and gave his support to his son, Danny, and friend, Paul.

Harold Apter

A talented writer, Harold is credited with 15 episodes of The Sentinel. His resume includes Earth: Final Conflict, Pensacola: Wings of Gold, Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Golden Girls, and Walker, Texas Ranger.

John Connor

John has had a successful career involving cinematography. His talent and vision helped to make the lighting and camera choices that brought the episodes to life. John also served as a director and story editor on The Sentinel.

The Charities

Our thanks to all for helping to contribute to the ongoing operation of the Pacific Marine Mammal Center and the Moonridge Animal Park.

While many of our guests and attendees were locals, quite a few traveled in from other states - and in some cases, other countries! Many were aided in their travels by our nominated travel agent, Dana Norris or Santa Barbara Travel.

Many thanks, Dana, for getting our people where they were supposed to be!
